SKT gives all staff AI tools to drive…
SK Telecom (SKT) unveiled a company-wide plan to accelerate its ongoing AI transformation (AX), aiming for a full-scale structural overhaul to enable all employees to directly develop AI agents and drive business innovation.
In a statement, CEO Jung Jai-hun (pictured) explained the transition to AI “does not begin with flashy technology”, but with small improvements made by employees who best understand the problems in their everyday jobs.
He urged employees to “find answers in the field”.
The South Korean operator detailed an internal roadmap, which includes the launch of a support system and employee training, with the goal of all staff, including non-developer roles, creating AI specialised for their respective tasks.
To enable the creation of agents, SKT will give staff access a range of AI platforms: its A.dot Biz agent; Polaris, a specialised marketing and data extraction tool; and Playground, which assists with network data analysis and coding.

An AX management system was introduced to integrate AI into the corporate culture by cataloguing innovative ideas submitted by staff, providing a dashboard for real-time monitoring, the statement added.
The company aims to consolidate internal innovation capabilities by hosting a hackathon in the first half of the year and share success cases in the second half by selecting a second round of AX projects for outstanding performance.
Jung outlined plans to improve operational efficiency and urged employees to break away from business as usual when he took the helm in October, following a major leak of customer data in early 2025.
In September 2025, the company consolidated all AI units into a single entity.
