Benchmark bets $50M on Gumloop’s AI agents for Slack, Teams and enterprise automation — TFN
Gumloop, a startup building tools that help companies automate tasks using artificial intelligence, has raised $50 million in a Series B funding round.
The round was led by Benchmark, with participation from Nexus Venture Partners, First Round Capital, Y Combinator, Box Group, The Cannon Project, and Shopify Ventures.
The company develops a platform that allows employees to create AI agents and automation tools for everyday work tasks. These agents can integrate with various business software tools and perform actions across platforms such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and email.
Gumloop says its platform is already used by companies including Shopify, Ramp, Gusto, Samsara, Instacart, and Opendoor.
AI tools for everyday workplace tasks
Max Brodeur-Urbas co-founded Gumloop in mid-2023 to simplify automation by allowing employees, not just engineers, to build AI-driven workflows.
One part of the platform focuses on AI agents that can carry out tasks such as monitoring data, responding to requests, or completing repetitive processes. Another component allows teams to collaborate and manage automation across different departments.
Gumloop also developed a monitoring tool called Gumstack, which helps security teams track how company data is used across AI tools and internal systems. The tool records activity across various AI platforms and custom-built agents, enabling organisations to review how data is accessed.
Growing demand for AI workplace automation
Interest in AI automation tools has increased as companies seek to reduce repetitive work and improve productivity.
According to the company, recent improvements in large language models have expanded what AI agents can do, accelerating Gumloop’s product development over the past year.
“When we asked enterprises why Gumloop has emerged as the primary AI platform for their employees, they consistently pointed to the product’s balance between powerful capabilities & ease of use, as well as the team’s customer obsession & dedication to service. The incredible adoption & expansion we’re seeing within enterprises firsthand is a testament to the depth of this team’s commitment to their users & customers,” said general partner at Benchmark, Everett Randle.
