Dating Apps Becoming New Job Search Environment, Survey Finds
BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A new survey finds that more people are searching dating apps for job opportunities instead of love.
ResumeBuilder.com found that many, not just Gen Z, are using dating apps like Tinder and Hinge to find a career. A reported 34% of dating app users have said they use the apps for job searching.
With AI skimming and unanswered replies on other job-searching apps frustrating many, Bostonians don’t see a problem using a dating app to find a career instead of love.
“I don’t see a problem, good for them, if they’re doing that as a way to find an occupation, then let them do it, there’s not a problem,” said one Boston resident. “There’s obviously several ways you can do that, but if you’re going to put it in your dating app, then go for it.”
Some of these dating apps forbid using the application for business in their terms and conditions, turning this growing trend into a bit of a gray area.
As long as people are making their intentions clear, it seems like job seekers won’t have many issues finding opportunities.
“Strictly to go on a dating site to look for a job is weird, if you’re not putting it out there that’s what you’re looking for,” said a Boston woman.
